Fitting Every Occasion: Your Phone as a Multipurpose Tool

As much as you use your phone, it might be that you only use it for the same things every day. In theory, there’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s worth thinking about what you can do to get the most out of your phone. This isn’t so that you use your phone more than you need to, but just so that you understand just how much convenience is at the tip of your fingers.

It can also be something that helps you to prepare for travel by packing only what you need through this kind of utility.

A Gaming Console

Whether or not you’re already interested in gaming as a hobby, mobile gaming can offer you a new perspective of the medium. For those who are entirely new to gaming, this is arguably the best way to get into it. Not only can they play games using a device that they already have rather than having to invest in a whole new console, but it also gives them access to intermediary experiences that can transition them into more typical types of games. The kind of games that might appeal to people in this situation could either be classic, more simple mobile games like Fruit Ninja or Angry Birds, but it might also refer to online bingo or other digital casino games.

If you’re not new to gaming, you might feel this platform has nothing to offer you that you can’t find elsewhere. Even the portable aspect might be something that you feel you’re able to get from consoles like the Nintendo Switch. However, there are a whole host of mobile-exclusive games that you might never have heard of before yet are well received and popular in their own right.

Maps and Exploration

The ability for your phone to help you travel and explore the world might feel like the healthiest use of your phone in many ways. After all, if you’re feeling as though you look at your phone too often as it is, this can be a good way to take yourself out of your home environment and into the world, into a situation where you’re only looking at your phone as a necessity rather than just for aimless scrolling.

More than just using it as a way to get around, however, these tools can help you to get a sense of where you should go or not go when traveling somewhere new. If you’re exploring a new country, for example, exploring can be half the fun. However, you don’t always know where you should or shouldn’t go, where’s safe and where isn’t, or which kinds of sights are most worth seeing. A lot of this is subjective, and you won’t always get a direct answer from what people say online, but travel tips can help to give you a general sense of what to look out for.

Exercise and Wellbeing

Another healthy use for your phone is to use it as a way of organizing your schedule to include healthier activities. There are many ways that you can do this. Starting with exercise, you can use a myriad of apps to teach you how to exercise effectively (such as through HIIT routines) or to simply structure your day. If you feel as though you need reminders and similar tools to get you up and running, this might be a way to make it a more consistent element in your day.

However, that’s not all. You can also use similar apps for techniques like yoga or meditation, which can be (in the case of yoga) both a form of exercise and a way of slowing down for the sake of your mental health. When mindfulness isn’t something that you practice, it’s easy to feel as though it won’t make a difference. Making time for it in your busy schedule, however, might give you the break that you’re looking for.

Finally, apps that can offer you healthy recipes and ways to budget your weekly meals effectively will get you into a much healthier routine in this regard. You might even use these tools to keep track of what you’re eating to ensure that you don’t go overboard with saturates or salt.
